CVSS v3.1 |
| A user with the Viewer role in Grafana can crash the server by submitting a crafted server-side math expression (uncontrolled recursion). A user with permission to provision alert rules can make the outage persist across restarts. |
| An uncontrolled recursion in the MessagePack\BufferUnpacker::unpack() component of rybakit/msgpack v0.11.0 allows attackers to cause a Denial of Service (DoS) via a crafted input. |
| In Progress® Telerik® Document Processing Libraries prior to version 2026.3.1027, uncontrolled recursion, inefficient algorithmic complexity and infinite loop vulnerabilities in RadWordsProcessing allow an unauthenticated attacker to terminate or hang the host process via a crafted DOCX, DOC, RTF or HTML document. |
| In Progress® Telerik® Document Processing Libraries prior to version 2026.3.1027, uncontrolled recursion, infinite loop, inefficient algorithmic complexity and resource allocation vulnerabilities in RadPdfProcessing and AI document summarization and question answering allow an unauthenticated attacker to terminate or hang the host process via a crafted PDF document or document text submitted for summarization or question answering. |
| In Progress® Telerik® Document Processing Libraries prior to version 2026.3.1027, uncontrolled recursion, infinite loop, unchecked loop condition and inefficient regular expression vulnerabilities in RadSpreadProcessing and RadSpreadStreamProcessing allow an unauthenticated attacker to terminate or hang the host process via a crafted XLSX or XLS workbook or formula. |
| Uncontrolled recursion in the ASN.1 parser (Asn1InputStream, Asn1StreamParser) in Legion of the Bouncy Castle Inc. bc-csharp before 2.7.0 allows a remote unauthenticated attacker to cause a denial of service via a crafted ASN.1 encoding of deeply nested constructed elements (for example SEQUENCE inside SEQUENCE, in definite-length DER or indefinite-length BER form), because each nesting level is parsed by a further recursive call with no bound on depth. About 2,000 levels (8 KB of DER) are enough to exhaust a 1.5 MB thread stack, the .NET main-thread default on Windows, and raise a StackOverflowException, which .NET cannot catch and which terminates the whole process; on threads with larger stacks, parse time instead grows quadratically with depth (about 9 seconds of CPU for a 64 KB input). Any path that parses untrusted ASN.1 is exposed, including X.509 certificates and CRLs, CMS/PKCS#7, PKCS#8/PKCS#12, OCSP and TLS Certificate messages. |
| ApostropheCMS is an open-source Node.js content management system. In sanitize-html 2.18.0, when an <iframe> is not allowed and disallowedTagsMode is 'discard' (the defaults), its raw-text content is re-sanitized by a recursive call to sanitizeHtml(text, options). The recursion has no bound and starts each nested call with a fresh state. This vulnerability is fixed in 2.18.1. |
| Use-after-free in the XSLT component. This vulnerability was fixed in Firefox 159, Firefox ESR 115.44, Firefox ESR 153.6, Thunderbird 159, and Thunderbird 153.6. |
| Tanium addressed an infinite loop vulnerability in Threat Response Client Extension. |
| A maliciously crafted IFC file, when parsed through certain Autodesk products, can trigger an Uncontrolled Recursion vulnerability. A malicious actor may leverage this vulnerability to cause the application to terminate unexpectedly, resulting in a denial-of-service. Exploitation requires a user to open a specially crafted IFC file. |
| Pillow is a Python imaging library. From 5.1.0 until 13.0.0, Pillow can exhaust resources while parsing an existing PDF during an append operation. PdfParser follows page-tree child references without cycle or duplication tracking and follows previous-trailer chains with only an exact repeated-offset guard, so deep or cyclic page trees and long chains of unique trailer offsets can exhaust the Python stack. Repeated non-cyclic /Kids references can also cause super-linear CPU and memory use. An attacker can supply such a PDF to an application that calls Image.save with PDF append enabled. This can raise an uncaught RecursionError or consume excessive CPU and memory before output is written, causing denial of service. This issue is fixed in version 13.0.0. |
| Semantic MediaWiki 3.0.0 before 7.3.1 contains an uncontrolled recursion vulnerability in LegacyParser::getSubqueryDescription() that processes nested query tokens before depth limits apply. Unauthenticated attackers can submit deeply nested query elements to the action=ask API to consume substantial CPU and memory, tying up request workers. |
| Go JOSE provides an implementation of the Javascript Object Signing and Encryption set of standards in Go, including support for JSON Web Encryption (JWE), JSON Web Signature (JWS), and JSON Web Token (JWT) standards. Prior to 4.1.5, parsing attacker-controlled JSON through go-jose allows deeply nested arrays or objects to exceed Go's stack limit. The resulting stack overflow crashes the application and permits denial of service in applications that parse untrusted JSON through go-jose. This issue is fixed in version 4.1.5. |
| OW2 ASM 3.0 before 9.11 contains an uncontrolled recursion vulnerability in ClassWriter.replaceAsmInstructions() that allows attackers to cause denial of service through crafted class files. Attackers can supply a class with a large method containing many long forward jumps, triggering unbounded toByteArray() recursion and a StackOverflowError during transformation. |
| OW2 ASM 3.0 before 9.11 contains an uncontrolled recursion vulnerability in SignatureReader.parseType() that allows attackers to exhaust the stack via deeply nested generic type signatures. Attackers can supply a crafted class file with a long Signature attribute containing many nested type arguments to trigger a StackOverflowError during class transformation, causing denial of service. |
| ImageMagick before 6.9.13-58 and 7.x before 7.1.2-33 contains uncontrolled recursion in the MVG decoder that can lead to a stack overflow. Attackers can supply a crafted MVG file that, when read with specific arguments, exhausts the stack and crashes the process, causing a denial of service. |
| jose_jwk:shared_secret/2 (exposed in Elixir as JOSE.JWK.shared_secret/2) derives an ECDH shared secret from two JWKs. Its first function clause only matches when both JWKs carry the same key type (kty) module, and its fallback clause re-invokes itself as shared_secret(from(YourJWK), from(MyJWK)). Because from/1 returns an already-parsed jose_jwk record unchanged, passing two JWKs whose key types differ (for example an EC key and an RSA key) makes the fallback clause re-enter with identical arguments, producing an unbounded tail-recursive loop that never returns and never crashes.
An application that derives a shared secret from an externally supplied peer public key without first checking that the peer key's type and curve match its own key can be driven into this loop by an attacker-controlled JWK, pinning an Erlang scheduler at 100% CPU. Repeated requests exhaust the available schedulers, resulting in a denial of service.
This issue affects jose: from 1.5.0 before 1.11.13. |
| Crow before 1.3.4 contains an uncontrolled recursion vulnerability in crow::json::load() that allows remote unauthenticated attackers to crash the server by sending deeply nested JSON. Attackers can send a request body with thousands of nested objects to exhaust the worker thread stack, terminating the process and dropping all connections. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
drm/amdgpu: cap ATOM command table nesting depth
Cap nesting at 32 levels with execute_depth and
return -ELOOP when exceeded. |
| pupnp is an SDK for development of UPnP device and control point applications. Prior to 2.0.0, multiple ixml DOM traversal functions process deeply nested XML with unbounded recursion. The iterative XML parser accepts the document, but ixmlPrintDomTreeRecursive in ixml/src/ixml.c and ixmlNode_getElementsByTagNameRecursive, ixmlNode_getElementsByTagNameNSRecursive, ixmlNode_cloneNodeTreeRecursive, and ixmlNode_isAncestor in ixml/src/node.c recurse over firstChild and nextSibling links. An unauthenticated peer on the local network can supply deeply nested XML through a SOAP request, exhaust a service thread's stack, and crash the UPnP service. This is an incomplete-fix case for CVE-2021-28302 because its remediation converted ixmlNode_free but left these traversal paths recursive. This issue is fixed in 2.0.0. |
