CVSS v3.1 |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
sctp: validate chunk length in the inqueue parser
SCTP chunks always include a four-byte generic header, but
sctp_inq_pop() currently accepts shorter declared lengths. A zero-length
chunk leaves chunk_end at the current header.
When ASCONF is covered by the association's SCTP-AUTH policy,
sctp_assoc_bh_rcv() can continue before the state machine performs its
normal chunk-length check. sctp_inq_pop() then returns the same malformed
chunk repeatedly and the receive softirq can lock up.
A remote SCTP peer can trigger this after establishing an association on
a kernel built with CONFIG_IP_SCTP and configured with
net.sctp.addip_enable=1 and net.sctp.auth_enable=1. The reproducer did
not require application credentials, a shared SCTP AUTH key, or
net.sctp.addip_noauth_enable=1.
On commit f967455fb2a5 ("seg6: reset IP6CB after IPv6 decapsulation"),
one zero-length ASCONF caused repeated
watchdog soft-lockup reports in a two-vCPU KVM guest. All 3 pre-trigger
health probes succeeded, while 36 of 37 post-trigger probes failed. With
this change, all 37 post-trigger probes succeeded and no equivalent
soft-lockup signature appeared.
Reject chunks shorter than the generic SCTP header at the shared inqueue
parser boundary. Mark the packet for discard before either caller can
continue processing it, while preserving the four-byte generic minimum.
Declared-length 1 through 4 controls and kernel-generated ASCONF traffic
remained healthy. The patched sctp_hello selftest passed for IPv4 and
IPv6.
The complete private reproducer and validation evidence are available
directly to maintainers on request. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
net/iucv: fix the recvmsg window update
iucv_sock_recvmsg() sends the HiperSockets-only AF_IUCV_FLAG_WIN without
testing the transport, so on a classic z/VM socket iucv_send_ctrl() sizes
the skb through a NULL iucv->hs_dev. SO_MSGLIMIT accepts 1, so msglimit / 2
is zero and one recvmsg() on its own socket is enough for an unprivileged
process to take a spurious disconnect.
It also calls iucv_send_ctrl() under spin_lock_bh(&message_q.lock), which
allocates GFP_KERNEL inside a section the code treats as atomic. Sending
outside that lock lets two recvmsg() reach afiucv_hs_send() at once, where
msg_recv is sampled for the advertised window and subtracted after
dev_queue_xmit() -- and sendmsg reaches that counter under lock_sock()
while recvmsg holds no socket lock, so both can subtract the same value,
the counter goes negative and the credit reaches the peer twice.
Test the transport, claim the credit with atomic_xchg() after the last
error exit and hand it back if the transmit fails, and send once the lock
is dropped. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
ntfs: fix FITRIM range alignment
ntfs_trim_fs() aligns the start of a free extent up to the device discard
granularity, but derives the discard length by aligning the original extent
length down. When the free extent start is not discard-aligned, adding that
length to the aligned start can extend the discard past the free extent and
into allocated clusters.
For example, with 4 KiB clusters and 32 KiB discard granularity, the free
extent [4 KiB, 36 KiB) becomes the discard range [32 KiB, 64 KiB), so
28 KiB beyond the free extent may be discarded.
Align the absolute end of the free extent down and derive the length from
the two aligned endpoints. Skip extents that contain no full discard unit.
Reproduced with a 4 KiB-cluster NTFS filesystem on scsi_debug configured
for 32 KiB discard granularity and read-zero-after-trim. Before this
change, FITRIM zeroed seven allocated 4 KiB clusters following an unaligned
32 KiB hole. With this change, the same data remains intact across FITRIM
and remount. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
drm/amdgpu: don't drop the runtime PM reference twice in amdgpu_gpr
amdgpu_debugfs_gpr_read() drops its runtime PM reference right after
reading the wave registers. When copying them to userspace fails, it
jumps to the err label, which drops the reference a second time. A read
into a bad buffer on Navi31 either steals a reference somebody else
holds (power/runtime_usage goes from 1 to 0) or underflows the count:
amdgpu 0000:03:00.0: Runtime PM usage count underflow!
The registers are already in the kernel buffer at that point, so finish
the hardware access first and copy the buffer with a single
copy_to_user() instead of the put_user() loop with its own error path.

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
io_uring/cancel: don't spin on local work the task can't run
io_uring_cancel_generic() refuses to sleep while any ring on the exiting
task's tctx has local work pending. It assumes the task is that ring's
submitter and that the next io_uring_try_cancel_requests() pass will run
the work. This does not hold for a ring that was still
IORING_SETUP_R_DISABLED when the task got its tctx node from
io_uring_create() or io_ringfd_register(). The submitter is set later by
IORING_REGISTER_ENABLE_RINGS, possibly from another task, and only the
submitter may run local work on an IORING_SETUP_DEFER_TASKRUN ring. To
the exiting task the work stays pending forever, the loop never reaches
schedule(), and the task trips the WARN_ON_ONCE() once and then spins in
do_exit().
An unprivileged user can set this up at will by creating a disabled
ring, having a child enable it and stop, posting to the ring with
IORING_OP_MSG_RING and exiting with a request in flight that only the
child can complete. The exiting thread burns a CPU until the child runs
or dies, and with panic_on_warn set the WARN panics the kernel.
Fix by skipping the sleep only when io_allowed_defer_tw_run() allows the
task to run the work. This is reasonable since work it cannot run cannot
complete any of its requests either, so nothing is lost by sleeping.
Drop the WARN_ON_ONCE() since handing a disabled ring to another thread
is a supported scenario, not a bug state. |
| An incorrect calculation in Decimal128 string parsing in the MongoDB C Driver can accept certain over-precision inputs containing leading zeros instead of rejecting them. This produces a value different from the supplied text. An actor who can provide a decimal string to an embedding application, including through Extended JSON parsing, can cause the application to store or use an incorrect numeric value. |
| Netty netty-tcnative before 2.0.84.Final contains a denial of service vulnerability in the tcn_write_to_bytebuffer BIO write callback that overreports bytes consumed. Remote TLS 1.3 peers can provoke queued post-handshake records like NewSessionTicket or KeyUpdate to truncate flights, fail connections, or abort the JVM process. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
ASoC: samsung: i2s: enable op_clk in probe to balance runtime PM
The probe function puts the device into the runtime PM active state with
only the "iis" bus clock enabled, but it also sets priv->op_clk to the
parent of the RCLK_SRC mux without enabling it. The runtime PM suspend
callback disables both clocks, so the first runtime suspend after probe
disables op_clk once more than it was enabled.
On Exynos5250 Arndale both clocks resolve to the same EXYNOS_I2S_BUS gate,
so this triggers the following warning during boot:
WARNING: drivers/clk/clk.c:1270 at clk_core_disable+0xe4/0x23c, CPU#0: kworker/u8:3/45

Fix this by enabling op_clk in probe right after getting it, so the clock
state matches the runtime PM active state, and by disabling it in remove. |
| Incorrect Calculation vulnerability in VillaTheme CURCY woo-multi-currency allows Integer Attacks. This issue affects CURCY: from n/a through 2.2.17. |
| A mailbox quota-accounting vulnerability in Zimbra Collaboration Suite (ZCS) allows an authenticated user to consume another user’s mailbox quota by repeatedly sharing and revoking a document. Creation of the recipient’s shared-file record charges the document size to mailbox-wide usage. Revocation deletes the record and reverses its folder counters without reversing the mailbox-wide charge. Repeated normal share notifications therefore accumulate quota usage after the visible records are gone. On accounts with a finite quota, this can prevent incoming mail and other size-increasing operations without recipient interaction. The issue affects ZCS 10.1.16 and 10.1.20. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
flow_dissector: avoid u16 truncation of hlen in bpf_flow_dissect()
bpf_flow_dissect() sanitizes the offsets returned by the BPF program
with clamp_t(u16, ..., hlen).
If hlen is bigger than 65535, the upper bound is truncated before
the comparison. For instance, with hlen == 65536, both nhoff and
thoff are forced to zero, even if the program returned sane values.
This is the same class of bug as the one fixed in commit 99bda1ecbd56
("flow_dissector: avoid u16 truncation of skb->len when computing
thoff"). That fix does not cover the BPF path, because
__skb_flow_dissect() returns early when a BPF flow dissector
handles the packet.
struct bpf_flow_keys stores nhoff and thoff as u16, so cap hlen
to U16_MAX before clamping.

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
drm/imagination: Size page table preallocation by device address
Commit 0a8224058a58 ("drm/imagination: Fix page count for page table for
map() interface") passed the device address to
pvr_mmu_op_context_create(), but the preallocation is still sized from
device_addr + sgt_offset with an exclusive end. The offset into the
object's pages has no place in a device-virtual range, and the exclusive
end allocates one table too many when the range ends on a table
boundary.
Count the tables from device_addr and the inclusive end of the range.
The new calculation does not take page table indices into account. This
fixes another issue with the previous implementation, where the
difference between start and end indices could underflow when a mapping
crossed a page table boundary. This would lead to the driver
preallocating a huge number of MMU pages, exhausting system memory and
triggering an out of memory panic.

| Vyper 0.3.8 through 0.5.0b1 contains an optimizer miscompilation in which (msg.value | K) or (len(msg.data) | K), where K is any nonzero integer literal, is compiled to the constant 1 when used as a ternary expression branch under -O gas (the default) or -O codesize. Affected contracts use the wrong value in storage writes, arithmetic, indexes, return values, or events without warning or revert, which can record deposits incorrectly and lock funds. |

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
i3c: master: Do not treat master device as a duplicate target
i3c_master_search_i3c_dev_duplicate() searches the bus for another I3C
device with the same PID as the reference device. The search can match
master->this, causing the controller itself to be returned as a
duplicate.
Since the controller is not a target device, it cannot be a duplicate of
one. Exclude master->this from matching so that the function only
returns real duplicate target devices. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
blk-iocost: clear delay state when freeing policy data
iocg_kick_delay() turns sufficiently large debt into an explicit
block-cgroup delay with blkcg_set_delay(), setting blkg->use_delay to
-1 and incrementing blkcg->congestion_count. Clearing it again depends
on iocg_kick_delay() running from the period timer, the waitq timer or
the issue path.
ioc_pd_free() removes the iocg from active_iocgs and cancels its waitq
timer, and no further bios can arrive, so once it has run nothing is
left which can reduce the debt and clear the delay. The blkcg stays
marked congested for the rest of its life.
blk_cgroup_congested() then returns true for every task in that cgroup
and its descendants: page_cache_sync_ra() cuts readahead to a single
page, page_cache_async_ra() skips it altogether, and
__folio_throttle_swaprate() takes swap_avail_lock and schedules a
throttle on anonymous folio allocation.
Clear it explicitly, after the list removal and the synchronous
hrtimer_cancel() so that neither timer processing nor an I/O path can
re-arm it. The free callback can also see policy data which was never
attached to a blkg, hence the pd->blkg check. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
ksmbd: scope session state changes to bound connections
ksmbd_all_conn_set_status() treats every connection whose transient
binding flag is set as belonging to the target SessionId. A logoff or
session replacement can consequently move an unrelated connection to
NEED_RECONNECT or NEED_SETUP.
Pass the target session itself and select connections using either the
connection-local session xarray or the session's permanent channel list.
Use the same association test while waiting for requests to drain.
Serialize session-wide status changes under request_lock and do not
overwrite EXITING or RELEASING. Protect the shutdown transition with the
same lock so a concurrent session update cannot revive a closing
connection. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
tracing/probes: Remove WARN_ON_ONCE from parse_btf_arg
Sashiko found that user can cause this WARN_ON_ONCE() easily
with adding a kprobe event based on a raw address with BTF
parameter.
Since this is not an unexpected condition, remove the
WARN_ON_ONCE(). |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
smb/client: fix chown/chgrp with SMB3 POSIX Extensions
Ownership (chown) and group (chgrp) modifications were being ignored when
mounting with SMB3 POSIX Extensions unless CIFS_MOUNT_CIFS_ACL or
CIFS_MOUNT_MODE_FROM_SID were also explicitly set.
Fix this by checking for posix_extensions in cifs_setattr_nounix() when
updating UID and GID, ensuring that id_mode_to_cifs_acl() is called to map
and set the ownership/group information on the server. |
