CVSS v3.1 |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
net: hisilicon: hip04_eth: Move setting of netops to fix crash
hip04_mac_probe() calls of_phy_connect() before ndev->netdev_ops is
assigned. phy_attach_direct() -> phy_link_topo_add_phy() reads
dev->netdev_ops through netdev_need_ops_lock() since the commit in
question, so probing crashes with a NULL pointer dereference when
CONFIG_NET_SHAPER is enabled.
Assign netdev_ops before the PHY attach, as was done for emac in commit
7c9f391ec89c ("net: emac: move setting of netops to fix crash"). |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
ring-buffer: Fix false warning in ring_buffer_map_get_reader()
The mmap reader can warn when it catches up with a writer that is still
committing events. rb_get_reader_page() returns NULL in this case, but
ring_buffer_map_get_reader() treats that result as an error.
The initial rb_per_cpu_empty() check filters out an empty buffer, but it
does not guarantee that the next reader page has committed data. Writers
do not take reader_lock and can advance commit_page before publishing the
committed length on the new page. rb_get_reader_page() can swap to that
page, catch up with the writer and return NULL.
Handle NULL through the existing no-data exit without warning. Remove the
caller's reader_page == commit_page check as well, since the reader-page
helper already handles that case. The existing metadata update and return
path remain in place. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
ring-buffer: Do not show buffer_meta for CPUs without a buffer
The per_cpu/cpuN/buffer_meta files are created for every possible CPU,
but buffer->buffers[cpu] is only allocated once that CPU comes online.
Reading the file of a CPU that never came online dereferences a NULL
cpu_buffer in rbm_start().
Fail the open with -ENODEV when the CPU has no buffer, as the other
per CPU ring buffer interfaces do. |
| Tanium addressed a denial of service vulnerability in Provision. |
| SOEM version 2.0.0 and earlier contains a vulnerability where a malicious device can crash the master system. When the software receives an error response, it clears an internal pointer but continues processing. If another message arrives before timeout, the software attempts to use the cleared pointer, causing a crash. An attacker can trigger this with a simple sequence of two messages. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
SUNRPC: check rpc_sockaddr2uaddr() return value in rpcb_register_inet4/6
rpcb_register_inet4() and rpcb_register_inet6() store the result of
rpc_sockaddr2uaddr() into map->r_addr without checking it for NULL.
rpc_sockaddr2uaddr() returns NULL when its final kstrdup() fails, and
the unchecked NULL is then carried into the synchronous RPCBPROC_SET
encode path: rpcb_register_call() -> rpc_call_sync() ->
rpcb_enc_getaddr() -> encode_rpcb_string(), whose first statement is
strlen(string), dereferencing NULL and oopsing the kernel.
The crash reproduces under failslab on v6.12; with KASAN the NULL
dereference surfaces as a fault on the shadow of address zero:
Oops: general protection fault, probably for non-canonical address
0xdffffc0000000000 [#1] PREEMPT SMP KASAN
RIP: 0010:strlen (lib/string.c:409)

The crash is reachable when an in-kernel RPC service (nfsd, lockd,
nfs-callback) registers with the local rpcbind under enough memory
pressure for the small GFP_KERNEL kstrdup() in rpc_sockaddr2uaddr() to
fail. The asynchronous getport path already handles this exact failure
mode by returning -ENOMEM; only the two register helpers omit the check.
Mirror that handling: bail out with -ENOMEM when rpc_sockaddr2uaddr()
returns NULL, before the address is fed into the encoder. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
iio: dac: ad5686: missing NULL check on match data
Verify that chip_info pointer is not NULL. If a user binds the driver
using driver_override via sysfs with a device name not present in the
id_table or of_match_table, match data will be NULL. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
xfs: get rid of the xchk_xfile_*_descr calls
The xchk_xfile_*_descr macros call kasprintf, which can fail to allocate
memory if the formatted string is larger than 16 bytes (or whatever the
nofail guarantees are nowadays). Some of them could easily exceed that,
and Jiaming Zhang found a few places where that can happen with syzbot.
The descriptions are debugging aids and aren't required to be unique, so
let's just pass in static strings and eliminate this path to failure.
Note this patch touches a number of commits, most of which were merged
between 6.6 and 6.14. |
| NVIDIA TRT-LLM for any platform contains a vulnerability where an attacker could cause an unchecked return value to a null pointer dereference. A successful exploit of this vulnerability might lead to denial of service. |
| libsixel is a SIXEL encoder/decoder implementation derived from kmiya's sixel. From to 1.8.7-r1, a wrong NULL check after an allocation call in sixel_decode_raw and sixel_decode causes a NULL pointer dereference whenever the allocation fails. The check tests the address of the output parameter (always non-NULL) instead of the value the malloc returned. On allocation failure, the function continues and writes through a NULL pointer, crashing the process. This is a denial of service against any caller of these public APIs that hits a low-memory condition. This vulnerability is fixed in 1.8.7-r2. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
net: ice: Fix potential NULL pointer dereference in ice_bridge_setlink()
The function ice_bridge_setlink() may encounter a NULL pointer dereference
if nlmsg_find_attr() returns NULL and br_spec is dereferenced subsequently
in nla_for_each_nested(). To address this issue, add a check to ensure that
br_spec is not NULL before proceeding with the nested attribute iteration. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
tipc: check for null after calling kmemdup
kmemdup can return a null pointer so need to check for it, otherwise
the null key will be dereferenced later in tipc_crypto_key_xmit as
can be seen in the trace [1].

| iccDEV provides a set of libraries and tools that allow for the interaction, manipulation, and application of International Color Consortium (ICC) color management profiles. Versions prior to 2.3.1.2 have a Type Confusion vulnerability in `CIccProfileXml::ParseBasic()` at `IccXML/IccLibXML/IccProfileXml.cpp`. This vulnerability affects users of the iccDEV library who process ICC color profiles. Version 2.3.1.2 contains a patch. No known workarounds are available. |
| iccDEV provides libraries and tools for interacting with, manipulating, and applying ICC color management profiles. Versions 2.3.1.1 and below have Undefined Behavior and Null Pointer Deference in CIccTagXmlFloatNum<>::ParseXml(). This occurs when user-controllable input is unsafely incorporated into ICC profile data or other structured binary blobs. Successful exploitation may allow an attacker to perform DoS, manipulate data, bypass application logic and Code Execution. This issue has been fixed in version 2.3.1.2. |
