CVE-2026-63862 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-26 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: PCI: mediatek-gen3: Prevent leaking IRQ domains when IRQ not found In mtk_pcie_setup_irq(), the IRQ domains are allocated before the controller's IRQ is fetched. If the latter fails, the function directly returns an error, without cleaning up the allocated domains. Hence, reverse the order so that the IRQ domains are allocated after the controller's IRQ is found. This was flagged by Sashiko during a review of "[PATCH v6 0/7] PCI: mediatek-gen3: add power control support".
CVE-2026-98878 1 Linux 2 Linux, Linux Kernel 2026-10-26 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: irqchip/gic-v5: Immediately exec priority drop following activate With GICv5 an interrupt of equal or lower priority cannot be signalled until there has been a priority drop. This is done via the GIC CDEOI system instruction. Once this has been executed, the hardware is able to signal the next interrupt if there is one. As all interrupts are programmed to have the same priority, no new interrupts can be signalled until the priority drop has happened. This can cause issues when, for example, an interrupt remains active while a long running process takes place, such as when injecting a physical interrupt into a guest VM in software. The GICv5 driver has so far done the priority drop as part of irq_eoi(), i.e., at the same time as deactivating the interrupt. This means that any long running process (or VM) could block incoming interrupts, effectively causing a denial of service for all other interrupts. Rather than doing the EOI as part of irq_eoi() (which the name would suggest would be a good place for it), move it to happen immediately after acknowledging an interrupt in the main GICv5 interrupt handler. The deactivation of interrupts (GIC CDDI) remains implemented as part of irq_eoi(), which means that the same interrupt cannot be signalled a second time until deactivated by software.
CVE-2026-116152 1 Imagemagick 1 Imagemagick 2026-10-25 5.3 Medium
ImageMagick before 7.1.2-33 contains a memory leak vulnerability in the MAT decoder that fails to release allocated memory in a specific error path. Attackers can supply crafted MAT files that trigger this error path repeatedly, causing small memory leaks that gradually consume process memory.
CVE-2026-98451 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-24 8.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: smb: client: use finish_no_open() for non-regular inodes An O_CREAT open can find an existing symlink or another non-regular inode. cifs_atomic_open() calls finish_open() on it and attaches a cifsFileInfo. Symlink inodes have no CIFS release operation, so the dentry reference held by cifsFileInfo is leaked. FMODE_OPENED also prevents the VFS from following the symlink. Track whether cifs_do_create() returned an open server handle. For non-regular inodes, close the handle if present, remove the pending open, and call finish_no_open() so the VFS can continue the lookup. Do not set FMODE_CREATED unless a regular file was opened. For O_NOFOLLOW with __O_REGULAR, return -ELOOP before the VFS's -EFTYPE check. Defer closing a legacy POSIX handle on a non-regular inode until after inode lookup. This avoids closing it again if lookup fails.
CVE-2026-98831 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-24 2.3 Low
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: of/overlay: don't leak fragment references when changeset init fails init_overlay_changeset() stores the number of initialized fragments in ovcs->count only on full success. When find_target() or the __symbols__ lookup fails partway through, the target and overlay references taken for the fragments initialized so far are never dropped: free_overlay_changeset() bounds its cleanup loop by ovcs->count, which is still 0. Store the running count on the error path so free_overlay_changeset() puts whatever was set up. The store is guarded by ovcs->fragments because on the allocation-failure path cnt still holds the counting pass total while there is no fragments array; everywhere else cnt only counts fully-initialized fragments.
CVE-2026-98789 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-24 4.4 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: bpf: Fix objects stuck in free_by_rcu_ttrace do_call_rcu_ttrace() returns early when call_rcu_ttrace_in_progress is set and leaves the objects in free_by_rcu_ttrace. __free_rcu() frees waiting_for_gp_ttrace only and clears the flag. Hence the objects that free_bulk() or __free_by_rcu() added while RCU tasks trace GP was in flight stay in free_by_rcu_ttrace until free_bulk() or alloc_bulk() is called for the same bpf_mem_cache again, which may never happen. The number of such objects is not bounded. Turn call_rcu_ttrace_in_progress into three states: 0 - idle 1 - __free_rcu() is queued 2 - __free_rcu() is queued and free_by_rcu_ttrace got more objects since do_call_rcu_ttrace() sets 2. __free_rcu() does cmpxchg(1 -> 0) and starts the next GP when it fails. It cannot clear the flag first and check free_by_rcu_ttrace later, since bpf_mem_alloc_destroy() frees bpf_mem_cache without waiting for RCU callbacks when the flag is zero. Now __free_rcu() queues itself, so the one that didn't see 'draining' may do call_rcu_tasks_trace() after rcu_barrier_tasks_trace() in free_mem_alloc(). Queue it under rcu_read_lock() and do synchronize_rcu() before the barriers. Calling rcu_barrier_tasks_trace() twice works too, but creating and destroying hash maps in a loop on many cpus slows down to one free_mem_alloc() per GP and kworkers pile up.
CVE-2026-98811 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-24 3.3 Low
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net/sched: cls_api: reclaim an empty proto on the error path Two racing tc filter add requests on the same chain/prio of an unlocked classifier both run change() on the shared proto and both can fail: the winner's tcf_chain_tp_delete_empty() attempt gives up because the loser's handle is still in the idr, and the loser's error path drops only its own reference without a second reclamation attempt. The empty proto stays linked in the chain, holding the chain reference, a block reference and the classifier module reference until the chain or block is torn down. Reclaim the proto on the error path of any failed request that holds a proto reference. The reclamation is emptiness-gated: tcf_chain_tp_delete_empty() unlinks the proto only when delete_empty() admits it is empty, so a live shared proto is never unlinked. A proto the request created is reclaimed unconditionally - it is the only owner, so marking it for deletion is safe even without a delete_empty callback. Classifiers without one (the check marks the proto unconditionally) are rtnl-serialized, so the raced window this guard closes cannot arise for them. This is a follow-up to commit d4e359b3608a ("net/sched: cls_api: fix teardown of an adopted proto on insert-race loss"), which stopped the loser of the insert race from unlinking the winner's live proto but left the empty-proto residual in place. Conditions to recreate: - CONFIG_NET_CLS_FLOWER=y; veth pair - tc qdisc add dev veth0 ingress - two concurrent `tc filter add dev veth0 ingress protocol ip pref 1 flower skip_sw ... action drop` (both fail in fl_hw_replace_filter after publishing their handle in the idr); repeat in a loop - an empty flower tp stays linked after both requests fail; visible as a bare `filter protocol ip pref 1 flower chain 0` header in `tc filter show` with no filter entries - CAP_NET_ADMIN (namespace-local via unshare -Urn suffices)
CVE-2026-98820 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-24 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: blk-mq: set RQF_USE_SCHED when the operation is known The cached requests are allocated for one operation but can be handed out for another. A passthrough command has RQF_USE_SCHED cleared, so using those flags for a subsequent read/write bio will insert it into the scheduler without ->prepare_request() and frees it without ->finish_request(). For kyber, this leaks the domain token acquired at dispatch and stalls the queue. Don't set RQF_USE_SCHED based on the first operation the batch happened to be allocated for. Instead, set it after the request is claimed by an operation. Introduce a helper function, blk_mq_rq_late_init() for this, and absorb blk_mq_rq_time_init() since the two run together.
CVE-2026-99057 1 Linux 2 Linux, Linux Kernel 2026-10-23 2.3 Low
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: xen/netfront: don't leak the skb when xennet_fill_frags() fails When a response chain has more slots than fit in the skb's frags, xennet_fill_frags() returns an error and xennet_poll() jumps to its error path. That path moves what's left on tmpq to errq to be freed, but the skb being filled was already dequeued from tmpq, so it's never freed. Each chain that overflows leaks the skb and the pages attached to it as frags, and the backend decides how many slots it sends. Put the skb back on tmpq before taking the error path, like the xennet_set_skb_gso() failure just above it does.
CVE-2026-114613 1 Msgpack 1 Msgpack-python 2026-10-23 7.5 High
MessagePack is the serializer implementation for Python msgpack.org. Prior to 1.2.3, the msgpack-python C extension (msgpack._cmsgpack) leaks a decoded map value when deserialization rejects a key with strict_map_key=True (the default). Repeated malformed inputs can cause unbounded process memory growth and denial of service in applications that deserialize attacker-controlled MessagePack data. Both unpackb() and the streaming Unpacker API are affected. The pure-Python fallback does not exhibit this leak in the reported tests. This issue is fixed in version 1.2.3.
CVE-2026-98092 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-23 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ASoC: amd: yc: fix memory leak in acp6x_pdm_dma_close() acp6x_pdm_dma_close() does not free the runtime->private_data buffer allocated in acp6x_pdm_dma_open(). Add the missing kfree.
CVE-2026-98779 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-23 1.9 Low
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/amdgpu: fix ACP MFD device leak on init failure acp_hw_init() registers ACP child devices with mfd_add_devices() before attaching them to the ACP power domain and initializing the hardware. If attaching a child to the power domain fails, or if the ACP reset or clock enable operation times out, the failure path frees only the source cell, resource, and platform-data allocations. The child platform devices already registered by mfd_add_devices() remain registered and are never released. Remove the children from the power domain and unregister the MFD devices on failures that occur after mfd_add_devices() succeeds. Keep mfd_add_devices() failures on the existing cleanup path since the MFD core already rolls back partially registered children itself. The issue was identified by a static analysis tool I developed and confirmed by manual review. (cherry picked from commit 63da68d6a2279ec945581c990c5a59a5ae8b5560)
CVE-2026-98780 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-23 1.9 Low
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/amdgpu: fix IP instance memory leak on kobject add failure amdgpu_discovery_sysfs_ips() allocates ip_hw_instance with kzalloc_flex() and initializes its embedded kobject before calling kobject_add(). If kobject_add() fails, the return value is ignored and execution continues without dropping the initial kobject reference. The failed kobject is not retained in the kset list, so the normal sysfs teardown path cannot find it. As a result, ip_hw_instance_release() is never called and the ip_hw_instance allocation is leaked. Call kobject_put() when kobject_add() fails so the initial reference is dropped and ip_hw_instance_release() can free the allocation. Keep the existing best-effort sysfs behavior by continuing with the remaining IP entries after the failed registration. The issue was identified by a static analysis tool I developed and confirmed by manual review. (cherry picked from commit 5c75fbcca8af1096d8d9415b91d8ea6212c22ee1)
CVE-2026-98784 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-23 2.3 Low
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/amdgpu/gfx6: fix firmware leak on teardown The firmware requested in gfx_v6_0_init_microcode() is not released when the GFX block is torn down, leaking the firmware resources. Add gfx_v6_0_free_microcode() and call it from gfx_v6_0_sw_fini() to release the PFP, ME, CE and RLC firmware. (cherry picked from commit 386e81346f95ab0be5a82c5535de932e7a456924)
CVE-2026-98948 1 Linux 2 Linux, Linux Kernel 2026-10-23 N/A
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: mlxsw: spectrum_flower: Fix port range register leak in tmplt_create() mlxsw_sp_flower_tmplt_create() parses a flow_cls_offload template into a stack-local struct mlxsw_sp_acl_rule_info purely to compute rulei.values.elusage. Parsing can acquire port range registers via mlxsw_sp_flower_parse_ports_range(), but since this rulei never goes through mlxsw_sp_acl_rulei_destroy(), those registers were never released, including through chain template deletion. Factor out of mlxsw_sp_acl_rulei_destroy() the code to actually release the necessary resources and call from mlxsw_sp_flower_tmplt_create() to plug the leak. The issue was found during a review of Wentao Liang's patch referenced below.
CVE-2026-98746 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-23 2.3 Low
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: serial: ma35d1: Fix clock reference leak in ma35d1serial_probe() of_clk_get() returns a clock with a reference that has to be released with clk_put(). ma35d1serial_probe() never does that, so the reference is leaked on the probe error paths and also when the port is removed. Release it on the error paths and in ma35d1serial_remove().
CVE-2026-22997 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-23 7.5 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: can: j1939: j1939_xtp_rx_rts_session_active(): deactivate session upon receiving the second rts Since j1939_session_deactivate_activate_next() in j1939_tp_rxtimer() is called only when the timer is enabled, we need to call j1939_session_deactivate_activate_next() if we cancelled the timer. Otherwise, refcount for j1939_session leaks, which will later appear as | unregister_netdevice: waiting for vcan0 to become free. Usage count = 2. problem.
CVE-2026-98480 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-22 1.9 Low
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: nfc: trf7970a: power down on startup RX gain failure trf7970a_startup() powers up the device before applying the optional RX gain reduction. If the register read or write fails, it returns without undoing that power-up. Probe's unwind only drops the separate regulator references acquired by probe, leaving the additional VIN enable from startup unbalanced. The system resume caller also has no power-down on this error. Call trf7970a_power_down() before returning the RX gain error to deassert the enable GPIOs, release the startup VIN reference and restore the powered-off state. Runtime PM has not been enabled yet, so the full shutdown helper is not appropriate here. Preserve the original SPI error. This issue was identified during our ongoing static-analysis research while reviewing kernel code.
CVE-2026-98486 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-22 1.9 Low
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: ena: fix MMIO read buffer leak on probe failure ena_device_init() initializes the MMIO read mechanism with ena_com_mmio_reg_read_request_init(), which allocates a coherent DMA buffer for MMIO read responses. The normal removal path releases this buffer through ena_com_mmio_reg_read_request_destroy(). However, if ena_probe() fails after ena_device_init() succeeds, the error path destroys the admin resources and eventually frees ena_dev without destroying the MMIO read request, leaving the coherent DMA buffer allocated. Call ena_com_mmio_reg_read_request_destroy() in the probe error path before releasing the remaining device resources. This issue was found by manual code inspection.
CVE-2026-98473 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-22 1.9 Low
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: s390/vfio-ap: fix KVM GISC and page leak when queue removed from host config Three related problems exist in the handling of KVM interrupt and page resources when a queue is removed from the host's AP configuration while assigned to a mediated device (mdev). Problem 1: ~~~~~~~~~ AP_RESPONSE_Q_NOT_AVAIL not handled in vfio_ap_mdev_reset_queue() When the AP bus removes a queue device whose adapter or domain has been removed from the host's AP configuration, vfio_ap_mdev_remove_queue() is called. If the queue is still in the host's AP configuration at that point, it calls vfio_ap_mdev_reset_queue(), which issues a PQAP(ZAPQ). Since the adapter is already gone from the host configuration, ap_zapq() returns AP_RESPONSE_Q_NOT_AVAIL (0x01). This response code is not handled in vfio_ap_mdev_reset_queue()'s switch statement and falls through to the default case, which issues a WARN but does not call vfio_ap_free_aqic_resources(). As a result, if IRQ handling was enabled for the queue by the guest, the KVM GISC registration and the pinned guest page holding the notification indicator byte (NIB) are both leaked. This is fixed by adding AP_RESPONSE_Q_NOT_AVAIL to the same case as AP_RESPONSE_DECONFIGURED and AP_RESPONSE_CHECKSTOPPED in vfio_ap_mdev_reset_queue(). Like those response codes, Q_NOT_AVAIL indicates the queue is not operational and no further reset attempts are possible; the correct action is to free the IRQ resources immediately. Problem 2: ~~~~~~~~~ AP_RESPONSE_Q_NOT_AVAIL not handled in apq_status_check() In vfio_ap_mdev_reset_queue(), there are four cases that indicate a queue reset has not yet completed, in which case apq_reset_check() is queued to a work queue to verify completion of the reset operation. This function uses the PQAP(TAPQ) function to get the queue's status and calls apq_status_check() to verify whether the reset has completed, failed or needs to be executed again. As described in Problem #1 above, apq_reset_check() does not specifically check for AP_RESPONSE_Q_NOT_AVAIL, thereby potentially leaking KVM GISC registration and the pinned guest page holding the NIB. This is fixed by adding a case statement for AP_RESPONSE_Q_NOT_AVAIL to apq_status_check() and returning -ENODEV for that case. The caller, apq_reset_check() will then check for this return code and call vfio_ap_free_aqic_resources() to prevent the leak. Problem 3: ~~~~~~~~~ vfio_ap_free_aqic_resources() leaks saved_isc when kvm is NULL vfio_ap_free_aqic_resources() guards the call to kvm_s390_gisc_unregister() with: if (q->saved_isc != VFIO_AP_ISC_INVALID && !WARN_ON(!(q->matrix_mdev && q->matrix_mdev->kvm))) If matrix_mdev->kvm is NULL -- which can happen when vfio_ap_mdev_unset_kvm() has already run and cleared kvm before a subsequent cleanup path reaches this function -- the WARN_ON fires and the entire block is skipped. This leaves q->saved_isc set to a non-invalid value, creating a potential double-free on any subsequent call to this function. When kvm is NULL the KVM guest is already torn down, so kvm_s390_gisc_unregister() need not and cannot be called; however, q->saved_isc must always be cleared. Fix this by separating the kvm_s390_gisc_unregister() call from the q->saved_isc reset. The WARN_ON now guards only the genuinely impossible case of matrix_mdev being NULL. A NULL kvm is handled gracefully by skipping only the unregister call, and q->saved_isc = VFIO_AP_ISC_INVALID is set unconditionally whenever saved_isc was not already invalid. Additionally, add an else clause to the host-config check in vfio_ap_mdev_remove_queue() to call vfio_ap_free_aqic_resources() directly when the queue is not in the host's AP configuration. This serves as a backstop: when the AP bus fires the driver .remove callback after an adapter is removed from the host config, the queue is by definition no longer addressable, so vfio_ap_mdev_reset_queue ---truncated---
