CVE-2026-98473 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-22 1.9 Low
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: s390/vfio-ap: fix KVM GISC and page leak when queue removed from host config Three related problems exist in the handling of KVM interrupt and page resources when a queue is removed from the host's AP configuration while assigned to a mediated device (mdev). Problem 1: ~~~~~~~~~ AP_RESPONSE_Q_NOT_AVAIL not handled in vfio_ap_mdev_reset_queue() When the AP bus removes a queue device whose adapter or domain has been removed from the host's AP configuration, vfio_ap_mdev_remove_queue() is called. If the queue is still in the host's AP configuration at that point, it calls vfio_ap_mdev_reset_queue(), which issues a PQAP(ZAPQ). Since the adapter is already gone from the host configuration, ap_zapq() returns AP_RESPONSE_Q_NOT_AVAIL (0x01). This response code is not handled in vfio_ap_mdev_reset_queue()'s switch statement and falls through to the default case, which issues a WARN but does not call vfio_ap_free_aqic_resources(). As a result, if IRQ handling was enabled for the queue by the guest, the KVM GISC registration and the pinned guest page holding the notification indicator byte (NIB) are both leaked. This is fixed by adding AP_RESPONSE_Q_NOT_AVAIL to the same case as AP_RESPONSE_DECONFIGURED and AP_RESPONSE_CHECKSTOPPED in vfio_ap_mdev_reset_queue(). Like those response codes, Q_NOT_AVAIL indicates the queue is not operational and no further reset attempts are possible; the correct action is to free the IRQ resources immediately. Problem 2: ~~~~~~~~~ AP_RESPONSE_Q_NOT_AVAIL not handled in apq_status_check() In vfio_ap_mdev_reset_queue(), there are four cases that indicate a queue reset has not yet completed, in which case apq_reset_check() is queued to a work queue to verify completion of the reset operation. This function uses the PQAP(TAPQ) function to get the queue's status and calls apq_status_check() to verify whether the reset has completed, failed or needs to be executed again. As described in Problem #1 above, apq_reset_check() does not specifically check for AP_RESPONSE_Q_NOT_AVAIL, thereby potentially leaking KVM GISC registration and the pinned guest page holding the NIB. This is fixed by adding a case statement for AP_RESPONSE_Q_NOT_AVAIL to apq_status_check() and returning -ENODEV for that case. The caller, apq_reset_check() will then check for this return code and call vfio_ap_free_aqic_resources() to prevent the leak. Problem 3: ~~~~~~~~~ vfio_ap_free_aqic_resources() leaks saved_isc when kvm is NULL vfio_ap_free_aqic_resources() guards the call to kvm_s390_gisc_unregister() with: if (q->saved_isc != VFIO_AP_ISC_INVALID && !WARN_ON(!(q->matrix_mdev && q->matrix_mdev->kvm))) If matrix_mdev->kvm is NULL -- which can happen when vfio_ap_mdev_unset_kvm() has already run and cleared kvm before a subsequent cleanup path reaches this function -- the WARN_ON fires and the entire block is skipped. This leaves q->saved_isc set to a non-invalid value, creating a potential double-free on any subsequent call to this function. When kvm is NULL the KVM guest is already torn down, so kvm_s390_gisc_unregister() need not and cannot be called; however, q->saved_isc must always be cleared. Fix this by separating the kvm_s390_gisc_unregister() call from the q->saved_isc reset. The WARN_ON now guards only the genuinely impossible case of matrix_mdev being NULL. A NULL kvm is handled gracefully by skipping only the unregister call, and q->saved_isc = VFIO_AP_ISC_INVALID is set unconditionally whenever saved_isc was not already invalid. Additionally, add an else clause to the host-config check in vfio_ap_mdev_remove_queue() to call vfio_ap_free_aqic_resources() directly when the queue is not in the host's AP configuration. This serves as a backstop: when the AP bus fires the driver .remove callback after an adapter is removed from the host config, the queue is by definition no longer addressable, so vfio_ap_mdev_reset_queue ---truncated---
CVE-2026-98492 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-22 1.9 Low
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: macb: fix dma_alloc_coherent() leak on macb_alloc() error paths Fix 3 leaks in macb_alloc() error paths: - Tx buffer allocated but crossing a 4G boundary: Tx leaked. - Rx buffer allocation fails: Tx leaked. - Rx buffer allocated but crossing a 4G boundary: Tx & Rx leaked. This is because our error handling calls macb_free(bp) which in turn frees the buffers stored in bp->queues[0], but nothing has been stored in there. Fix by storing allocated buffers into bp->queues[0] ASAP.
CVE-2026-98472 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-22 3.3 Low
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: KVM: SEV: Free have_run_cpus during VM destruction even if VM is no longer SEV Unconditionally free SEV's "have run CPUs" cpumask in the VM destroy path, i.e. even for what appear to be non-SEV VMs, as an SEV VM becomes a non-SEV VM if its state is intra-host migrated. Alternatively, the mask could be freed in sev_migrate_from() when "converting" the source VM, but that gets annoying because ideally KVM would nullify the mask to guard against UAF, and nullifying the mask would need be conditioned on CPUMASK_OFFSTACK=y. Freeing the mask during sev_migrate_from() is also not robust against other KVM bugs, though that's kind of a moot point since any such bugs would show up even if sev->active is never set. I.e. KVM must get that side of things correct. But, that's not a great reason to add more code just to make things marginally less robust.
CVE-2026-98607 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-22 3.3 Low
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/virtio: fix object leaks in virtio_gpu_resource_create_blob_ioctl() virtio_gpu_resource_create_blob_ioctl() calls drm_gem_object_release() on both the virtio_gpu_resource_assign_uuid() and drm_gem_handle_create() error paths instead of dropping the reference it owns, so obj->funcs->free() never runs and the virtio_gpu_object, the resource id and the host-side resource are leaked. Use drm_gem_object_put() instead.
CVE-2026-98609 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-22 2.5 Low
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/virtio: fix object leak when drm_gem_handle_create() fails virtio_gpu_gem_create() owns the reference taken by virtio_gpu_object_create(). On the drm_gem_handle_create() error path it calls drm_gem_object_release() instead of dropping that reference. drm_gem_object_release() is the inverse of drm_gem_object_init() and does not touch the reference count or call obj->funcs->free(), so it is only correct as the last step of a destructor, as in virtio_gpu_cleanup_object(). Using it here leaves the bo at refcount 1 with no remaining reference, so virtio_gpu_free_object() never runs and the shmem pages, sg table and virtio_gpu_object are leaked. Since virtio_gpu_object_create() has already set bo->created, VIRTIO_GPU_CMD_RESOURCE_UNREF is not queued either, leaking the host-side resource and the resource id. drm_gem_handle_create_tail() drops the handle reference on all of its internal error paths, so the caller only has to drop its own. Use drm_gem_object_put(), matching the success path below.
CVE-2026-98701 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-22 4.3 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: wifi: mac80211: release mesh path quota on failed additions Repeated failed or duplicate mesh path additions can exhaust MESH_MAX_MPATHS while the path table holds fewer paths, which stops new paths to reachable destinations from being created. mesh_path_add() reserves a slot before allocating and inserting a path. If allocation fails, the function returns without releasing the slot. If the rhashtable insertion reports an error or an existing destination, the function discards its candidate but retains the reservation. No new path is installed in any of these cases. Release the reservation whenever the candidate is not installed.
CVE-2026-98680 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-22 1.9 Low
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: iio: accel: kionix-kx022a: Prevent memory leak and fix state The driver allocates memory for samples at buffer enable path. If regmap operation fails in the kx022a_fifo_enable() at the buffer enable path, the allocated memory is never freed. Furthermore, the state information and previous hardware configuration(s) aren't undone, potentially leaving WMI interrupts and buffers enabled, or driver state flags wrong. Free the memory and revert the hardware configuration and state flags on error path.
CVE-2026-98697 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-22 1.9 Low
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: USB: serial: fix dynamic id driver deregistration race Only free the dynamic ids after having deregistered the driver and removed the "new_id" attribute to avoid leaking any id added by a racing write to the attribute.
CVE-2026-111879 1 Perl5-dbi 1 Dbi 2026-10-22 5.5 Medium
DBI versions before 1.656 for Perl hang on a later open of a DBD::DBM table because a failed open_data does not release the table's lock. open_data creates the table's lock file and takes an exclusive flock on it for a CREATE, before the checks that can croak: a dbm_mldbm value that is not a module name, a failing tie, or a missing data file. The croak unwinds before the table object is blessed, so nothing releases the lock, and the meta data holding the open descriptor stays cached on the database handle. The dbm_mldbm and dbm_type values come from the DSN or the connect attributes, so a caller that chooses the serializer or the storage backend can trigger the failure. The flock has no timeout, so a later open of that table (even through a separate database handle) blocks for as long as the handle holding the stale lock lives, in the same process or any other.
CVE-2026-100071 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-21 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: hsr: free learned nodes on device setup failure hsr_dev_finalize() can fail after a lower-device RX handler has already been registered (slave A is added before the failable slave B and interlink adds). RX handlers run in softirq regardless of the master's state, so frames received in that window can learn dynamic nodes into node_db, and the error unwind never releases them. Free both owned dynamic databases in the unwind, mirroring hsr_dellink(). proxy_node_db is provably empty on every current error exit (only interlink RX feeds it, and the interlink add is the last failable step) and is freed for symmetry. The order is safe: hsr_del_port() unregisters each RX handler with synchronize_net() before hsr_del_nodes() runs, which removes remaining entries with list_del_rcu() and defers their release with call_rcu() for readers already under RCU.
CVE-2026-106575 1 Imagemagick 1 Imagemagick 2026-10-21 5.3 Medium
ImageMagick is free and open-source software used for editing and manipulating digital images. Prior to 7.1.2-31, a crafted Magick script can cause an opened file pointer to remain unclosed, allowing repeated processing to exhaust available file descriptors. This issue is fixed in version 7.1.2-31.
CVE-2026-89096 2 Nfs, Redhat 4 Nfs-utils, Enterprise Linux, Openshift and 1 more 2026-10-21 5.9 Medium
A flaw was found in nfs-utils. An unauthenticated remote attacker can trigger a Denial of Service (DoS) by sending repeated state notification requests to an exposed rpc.statd service. The service fails to properly release memory allocated during callback processing, leading to continuous memory growth. Sustained requests can exhaust system resources, eventually causing the service to degrade or crash.
CVE-2026-98782 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-21 2.3 Low
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/mediatek: Fix ovl adaptor platform device leak mtk_drm_probe() creates an OVL adaptor platform device with platform_device_register_data() when the display pipeline requires the OVL adaptor. If a later initialization step fails, the probe error path releases the DRM resources without unregistering the already registered OVL adaptor device. The normal remove path likewise leaves the device registered after the DRM driver is unbound. Keep track of whether the OVL adaptor was successfully registered and unregister it on probe failure. Also recover the platform device from the stored DDP component device and unregister it during normal removal. The issue was identified by a static analysis tool I developed and confirmed by manual review.
CVE-2026-98777 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-21 3.3 Low
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: binder: fix leaked fd fixups on TF_UPDATE_TXN supersede When a TF_UPDATE_TXN transaction supersedes a pending async transaction in a frozen process, the outdated transaction is freed with kfree() directly. This skips binder_free_txn_fixups(), leaking all binder_txn_fd_fixup entries and their fget()'d struct file references. The leaked file refcounts never reach zero, so the struct file objects are permanently pinned in memory. They survive process exit and accumulate across invocations until file-max exhaustion. Every other transaction cleanup path (binder_free_transaction(), binder_transaction() error paths, binder_release_work()) correctly calls binder_free_txn_fixups(). Add the missing call before kfree() in the t_outdated cleanup block.
CVE-2026-98710 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-21 2.3 Low
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: wifi: iwlegacy: 3945: free EEPROM data on remove il3945_pci_probe() calls il_eeprom_init(), which allocates memory for the EEPROM data. The probe failure paths release this allocation with il_eeprom_free(), but the remove path does not free it after a successful probe. As a result, the EEPROM data is leaked when the PCI device is removed. Free the EEPROM data in il3945_pci_remove() before releasing the mac80211 hardware structure. This issue was found by manual code inspection.
CVE-2026-98671 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-21 2.3 Low
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: iio: adc: sun4i-gpadc-iio: clean up on thermal zone registration failure If devm_thermal_of_zone_register() fails, probe returns without unregistering the IIO map array or disabling runtime PM. Jump to err_map to release them.
CVE-2026-72438 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-21 7.5 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: md/raid10: fix writes_pending and barrier reference leaks on discard failures raid10_make_request() acquires a writes_pending reference with md_write_start() before calling raid10_handle_discard(). Several failure paths in raid10_handle_discard() complete the bio and return without releasing the corresponding reference, causing md_write_end() to be skipped. Call md_write_end() before returning from these failure paths to keep writes_pending accounting balanced. Additionally, discard split allocation failures can occur after wait_barrier() succeeds. Those paths return without calling allow_barrier(), leaking the associated barrier reference. Release the barrier before returning from those paths.
CVE-2026-53229 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-21 7.5 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net/mlx5e: xsk: Fix DMA and xdp_frame leak on XDP_TX xmit failure In the XSK branch of mlx5e_xmit_xdp_buff(), when sq->xmit_xdp_frame() returns false (e.g. XDPSQ is full), the function returns without unmapping the DMA address or freeing the xdp_frame allocated by xdp_convert_zc_to_xdp_frame(). The xdpi_fifo push only happens on success, so the completion path cannot recover these entries. With CONFIG_DMA_API_DEBUG=y, the leak surfaces on driver unbind: DMA-API: pci 0000:08:00.0: device driver has pending DMA allocations while released from device [count=1116] One of leaked entries details: [device address=0x000000010ffd7028] [size=1534 bytes] [mapped with DMA_TO_DEVICE] [mapped as phy] WARNING: kernel/dma/debug.c:881 at dma_debug_device_change+0x127/0x180 ... CVE-2026-98502 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-21 3.3 Low
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: HID: alps: unregister DualPoint Stick input device on remove alps_input_configured() allocates a second input device ("DualPoint Stick") with input_allocate_device() and registers it, but the alps_driver struct has no .remove handler and input2 is not tracked in hdev->inputs. The default remove path (hid_hw_stop -> hidinput_disconnect) only iterates hdev->inputs, so input2 is never unregistered and leaks on every device removal. Add a .remove handler that stops the device first (preventing URB callbacks from touching input2 during teardown) and then unregisters input2.
CVE-2026-98453 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-21 4.3 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: smb: client: close handle after create-context parsing failure SMB2_open() accounts a successful CREATE response as a remote open before parsing its create contexts. If smb2_parse_contexts() rejects malformed context data, SMB2_open() returns without closing the handle, leaving the server-side handle open and num_remote_opens elevated. Close the handle after a post-CREATE context parsing failure so the error path releases the remote resource and balances the open count.
